The holder of the Certificate of Specialisation Renewable Energy Technician - Option A: Electrical Energy is an electrician specialising in the installation of equipment using renewable energies to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. The energies mainly concerned by Option A "Electrical Energy" are: photovoltaic solar energy, wind energy and energy transfer.

This technician is capable of identifying the customer's needs, checking the feasibility of the installation dimensioned by the design office, distributing activities within a small team and interfacing with other trades, installing the equipment, connecting the installation to the networks, making the necessary adjustments, tests and commissioning the installation, presenting the operation and use of the installation to the customer, carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on the installation.


The training course is organised into several skill modules, allowing for step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical exercises and assessment sessions in order to promote practical and progressive learning.

BC01 – Preparing for a job

  • researching technical information,
  • securing the site and identifying potential risks and sources of pollution,
  • checking that surfaces are suitable,
  • plan tasks, taking into account the work of other trades and the company’s workload.

BC02 – Installation and commissioning of a system

  • use protective equipment,
  • comply with safety procedures,
  • locate and mark out the routes of the various service networks,
  • position and secure equipment and its accessories, route the networks,
  • assemble and connect components and equipment,
  • ensure watertightness,
  • connect to the various networks,
  • label,
  • identify circuits and networks,
  • sort and dispose of waste,
  • check that the work carried out complies with the requirements.

Adjustment and commissioning:

  • carry out adjustments and tests,
  • commission the installation,
  • prepare for the handover of the completed installation.

BC03 – Maintenance work on a system
carry out maintenance work,

  • check that the performance achieved meets the expected performance.

Throughout the course, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor the learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables learners to develop professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, work-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learning in conditions that closely resemble the real-world workplace.

Assessments are organised throughout the course and at the end of the programme, in accordance with the qualification framework. Assessment tests may take the form of in-course assessments (CCF) and/or final examinations.

Support with exam preparation is provided throughout the course to help candidates succeed.

This qualification is awarded following validation by the academic examination board.

If a candidate fails the qualification, they retain credit for the modules they have passed and may retake the remaining examinations at a later date. The modules passed remain valid for 5 years
