BIM Building Modeller Vocational Qualification

At the end of the course, the candidate will be able to:

• Model a building project in 3D by integrating technical, regulatory and architectural data.
• Update and enhance the digital model according to changes in the project and information from those involved.
• Check that the project complies with current regulations and propose appropriate adaptations.
• Collaborate effectively in a BIM environment, both internally and with external partners depending on the nature of the project.
• Produce the deliverables required for each phase of the project (preliminary design, planning permission, execution), using modelling software.
• Prepare the technical and graphical summary of the project to facilitate coordination and prevent conflicts.
• Create a digital model of an existing building from a 3D survey, respecting the BIM convention.
• Organise and document the digital model in accordance with interoperability standards and the requirements of the ecological transition.
• Integrate environmental issues (RE 2020, energy performance, life cycle) into project modelling.
• Use BIM tools (3D/2D software, collaborative platforms, IFC viewers) on a daily basis to produce, share and exploit project data.

The three Certificates of Professional Competence (CCP) that make up the professional qualification are:

BC01 - Produce the graphic elements of a file in the pre-project phase and compile a building permit application

- Bring a project into compliance with regulations in the pre-project phase
- Produce the plans in the pre-project phase
- Compile the building permit application file

BC02 - Produce the digital mock-up in the project phase in accordance with the BIM convention

- Organise the project in accordance with the BIM convention
- Bring a project into compliance with regulations in the project phase
- Produce the digital mock-up and the details booklet for the tender documents in accordance with the BIM convention
- Prepare the summary of technical and architect drawings in BIM

BC03 - Produce the graphic file for an existing building in accordance with the BIM convention

- Produce the digital survey of an existing building
- Model the mock-up of an existing building in accordance with the BIM convention

• Professional qualification from the Ministry of Labour Level 5 (BTS)
