DEME - Diplôme d'Etat Moniteur Educateur (State Diploma in Educational Counselling)

On completion of the course, the holder of the Diplôme d'Etat de Moniteur Éducateur is able to:

• Initiate a professional relationship that respects the individuality of the person
• Contribute to the development of the personalised project with the person, his or her entourage and the team
• Contribute to the implementation of the personalised project with the person, his or her entourage and the team
• Participate in the evaluation of the personalised project with the person, the person's entourage and the team

• Contribute to the elaboration of the educational diagnosis
• Participate in the conception and evaluation of the educational project

 The training leading to the Diplôme d'État de Moniteur éducateur is organised into 3 skill blocks, 950 h of theoretical training:

- Block 1: Contribute to socio-educational support within a pathway logic : 455 hours

 Establishing a professional relationship that respects the individuality of the person

Contributing to the development of the personalised project with the person, his or her entourage and the team

Contributing to the implementation of the personalised project with the person, their family and friends and the team

Participating in the evaluation of the personalised project with the person, their family and friends and the team

Mobilising the acts of daily living to promote the person's autonomy

Accompanying the person in social life activities

Communicating in the context of social support  

- Block 2: Contribute to the specialised educational project with an inclusive aim : 420 hours

 Contribute to the development of the educational diagnosis

Participate in the design and evaluation of the educational project

Design and lead educational activities in and outside the establishment or service

Contribute to the evaluation of educational activities

Communicate within the framework of the specialised educational project  

- Block 3: Be part of team and partnership work to ensure continuity of support within a pathway logic : 175 hours

The training at the centre is supplemented by practical training of 1050H, spread over several periods to be carried out on at least 2 different professional sites, one of which must take place in a structure receiving the public in accommodation situations.

• All audiences

• Be at least 18 years of age

  Have passed the admission tests consisting of:

  -a written note presenting your aptitude and motivation to enter the course. This will be used as the basis for the interview.

  - a 30-minute interview

  - Have passed an individual selection interview to validate that your career plan is in line with the objectives of the course.

  The following are automatically admitted to the course following the submission of their application:

  - Winners of the Institut de l'engagement;

  - Candidates who have signed an apprenticeship or professionalisation contract within social and medico-social establishments and services;

  - Candidates who have already acquired one or more areas of competency of the state diploma of monitor educator falling under the provisions of the decree of 20 June 2007 relating to the state diploma of monitor educator;

  - Candidates who have already previously acquired one or more blocks of skills of the state diploma for monitor educators provided for by the provisions of the order of 5 July 2024 relating to the state diploma for monitor educators.

The Moniteur Éducateur can progress to level 6 training courses such as the Diplôme d'Éducateur Spécialisé (DEES), the Diplôme d'Éducateur Technique Spécialisé (DEETS), the Diplôme d'Assistant Social (DEASS), the Diplôme d'Éducateur de Jeunes Enfants (DEEJE).
