CAP MVTR- Vehicle maintenance - Road transport vehicles option (from the start of the 2025 academic year)

The holder of the CAP Vehicle Maintenance - Road Transport Vehicle Option is able to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on vehicles equipped with internal combustion, hybrid and electric engines:

• Periodic maintenance of vehicles
  Organisation of work
  Completion of checks defined by a procedure
  Replacement of wearing parts, fluids and/or adjusting tyre levels and pressures
  Preparing for roadworthiness tests
  Customer technical and vehicle maintenance advice
• Corrective vehicle maintenance
  Preparing for servicing
  Reconforming systems
  Carrying out first-level diagnostics

In all his activities, he must:
- be part of their company's quality and sales approach: this involves contributing to the constant improvement of customer satisfaction
- comply with "Health - Safety - Environment" rules: this involves safeguarding people's health, ensuring the prevention of occupational hazards and applying the environmental standards in force
- comply with the time limits, instructions and procedures in force in the company.

• Careers:  The CAP Vehicle Maintenance option VTR allows you to work in an approved repairer or a dealer.
  After obtaining your diploma, you can work as a road transport vehicle mechanic.
  
  
• Continuing your studies:The CAP leads to a job, but it is possible, under certain conditions, to continue your studies and prepare for a Bac Pro Vehicle Maintenance option Road Transport Vehicles, a Certificat de branche professionnel (CQP) Technicien confirmé en véhicules utilitaires et industriels (VUI) or Mécanicien spécialiste VUI.

  •  Mamadou C. arrived in France recently with a strong desire to succeed in the mechanical field. Spotted at a trade fair by the GRETA-CFA, he was referred to a partner company where he is currently employed on an apprenticeship contract for a CAP Vehicle Maintenance option for road transport vehicles. He is making rapid progress in acquiring vocational skills, as well as learning the language. He and his employer are already talking about continuing their studies on a vocational baccalauréat.
