BTS Photography

The aim of the BTS Photography is to certify the skills of photographers who conceive the images they produce and who master all the technical and artistic components of their profession, are capable of defining and implementing complex systems for shooting, rendering images and managing the associated digital information.

The BTS photography is based around 4 main types of professional activity:

• professional shooting
• post-production of the shots taken
• finalising and managing the processed images
• using and marketing the images.

The holder of the BTS Photography is able to:

• Communicate and obtain information
• Read, interpret images and assess the relevance of a project
• Choose, organise the means to be used for a shoot
• Produce shots
• Process photographic images
• Manage, conserving and archiving photographs
• Diffusing, reproducing and selling photographs, ensuring the legal protection and profitability of the activity
• Exercising a technology watch and providing technical expertise

The course is organised into several skill modules, allowing for step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical application and assessment sessions in order to promote practical and progressive learning.

Module 1 - Analysis of a photographic project

Module 2 - Managing a photographer’s professional practice

• Distributing, reproducing and licensing photographs whilst ensuring legal protection and the profitability of the business.

Module 3 - Proposing a technical and cost-effective solution in a professional context

• Monitoring technological developments
• Providing technical expertise

Module 4 - Analysing professional activities carried out within a company and undertaking a photographic project

• Communicating and gathering information
• Selecting and organising the equipment required for a photo shoot
• Carrying out photo shoots
• Processing digital photographic images
• Managing, preserving and archiving photographs

Throughout the course, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor the learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables students to develop professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, work-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learning in conditions that closely resemble the real working world.

Education Nationale certified teachers, Bac +3 trainers with significant experience in adult education, professional lecturers.

Assessments are organised throughout the course and at the end of the programme, in accordance with the qualification framework. Assessment tests may take the form of in-course assessments (CCF) and/or final examinations.

Support with exam preparation is provided throughout the course to help candidates succeed.

This qualification is awarded following validation by the academic examination board.

If a candidate fails the qualification, they retain credit for the modules they have passed and may retake the remaining examinations at a later date. The modules passed remain valid for 5 years
