BTS in fashion - clothing

The holder of the BTS Métiers de la Mode - Vêtements is able to carry out the activities:

- Total design and development of products, in compliance with regulations

- Industrialisation of products, preparation for production

- Communication with partners

in compliance with ethics and sustainable development.

- Establish the product definition file;

- Construct and/or modify a basic CAD pattern;

- Industrialise a pattern;

- Design the gradation from standard or specific measurement tables ;

- Check the conformity of the products, characterise their performance with regard to the specifications

BC02 - Design a product by moulding

- Construct a pattern by moulding

- Carry out fittings

BC03 - Aesthetically and functionally translate a product

- Analyse and exploit the stylist's data ;

- Discern the functions of women's, men's and children's clothing;

- Master the graphic - chromatic - volumetric components;

- Know and use the advertising language specific to the fields of fashion;

- Relate historical knowledge to the major creative movements;

- Decode an aesthetic and functional specification.

BC04 - Develop and economically validate the production process.

- Highlight the role of sourcing and supply policies;

- Find out about the legal framework of industrial protection and labour relations;

- Understand the company's financing data;

- Choose processes and optimise product manufacturing processes ;

- Make use of computerised technological solutions databases;

- Propose and adapt technological solutions to the quality grade, equipment, materials, costs and production sites;

- Carry out the technical tests required to develop the product;

- Define the product production process;

- Define the costs: materials, supplies, direct cutting and manufacturing labour;

- Produce the industrialisation file;

- Draw up and write the documents for putting the product into production;

BC05 - Technical watch and product development

- Identify and characterise a company and its environment in their organisational, legal and economic aspects;

- Identify the key elements of the marketing policy ;

- Participate in technology watch;

- Argue within a team with a view to validating a study;

- Ensure internal and external information exchanges;

- Transmit information in French and English ;

- Establish product traceability taking into account ethics and sustainable development;

- Participate in reducing the ecological footprint of the product;

- Record the information gathered on a suitable medium.

General education: General culture and expression, English, Mathematics, Physics and chemistry

In apprenticeship: Training is available within a minimum of 48 hours subject to validation of your application and available places as well as the position in the company (diploma compliance) and this until the end of the 1st month of starting the action.

The profession is practised in fashion and clothing companies, particularly in model research and development offices.
