TP - HVAC Maintenance Technician

At the end of the training course, the candidate will be able to:

• Perform level 3 preventive and corrective maintenance on heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.
• Diagnose faults and reliably restore thermal and thermodynamic equipment to service.
• Control, adjust and optimise settings to guarantee the energy performance of installations.
• Identify malfunctions linked to obsolescence and propose improvement or replacement solutions.
• Intervene on heating, domestic hot water and chilled water distribution networks.
• Apply the rules governing safety, hygiene, environmental protection and the prevention of occupational hazards.
• Handle refrigerants in compliance with regulations (category 1 certificate).
• Work independently, on a fixed site or on the move, with a professional posture suited to customers and users.
• Manage the waste resulting from your work in an eco-responsible manner.
• Contribute to the comfort of users, the quality of indoor air and the correct operation of equipment.
• Use digital tools and contractual supports to organise and plan work.

The course is organised into several skill modules, enabling step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical exercises and assessment sessions to promote hands-on, progressive learning.

BC01 – Carry out level 3 preventive and corrective maintenance and optimise the settings of heating equipment and heating and domestic hot water distribution networks

• Carry out preventive maintenance on heating equipment and heating and domestic hot water distribution systems
• Carry out diagnostics, troubleshoot or repair thermal equipment and heating and domestic hot water distribution networks
• Optimise the settings of thermal equipment and heating and domestic hot water distribution networks

BC02 - Carry out level 3 preventive and corrective maintenance and optimise the settings of air-handling equipment

• Carry out preventive maintenance on air-handling equipment
• Carry out diagnostics, troubleshoot or repair air-handling equipment
• Optimise the settings of air-handling equipment

BC03 - Carry out Level 3 preventive and corrective maintenance and optimise the settings of thermodynamic equipment and chilled water distribution systems

• Carry out preventive maintenance on thermodynamic equipment and chilled water distribution systems
• Carry out diagnostics, troubleshoot or repair thermodynamic equipment and chilled water distribution systems
• Optimise the settings of thermodynamic equipment and chilled water distribution systems

Throughout the course, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor the learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables learners to develop their professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

For this professional qualification, ongoing assessments (ECF) are organised throughout the course to evaluate the candidate’s progress and their mastery of professional skills.

The final examination takes place before a two-member examination panel comprising professionals from the sector. It comprises a professional role-play and an interview based on the professional portfolio (DP), which highlights the experience and skills developed by the candidate.

The final examination takes place within two months of the end of the training course.

The examination panel validates all or part of the Professional Qualification. In the event of partial validation, the professional competence certificates (CCP) (or competence modules) obtained are valid for a period of five years.

The candidate may subsequently complete the missing modules to obtain the Professional Qualification in its entirety.

Apprenticeship training: Training is available within a minimum of 48 hours, subject to validation of your application and the position in the company (diploma compliance), until the end of the 1st month in which the action begins.
