On completion of their training, holders of the complementary qualification "aeronautical paint technician" will be able to paint aircraft and spacecraft (aeroplanes, helicopters, satellite launchers, etc.).

To do this, they will be able to work professionally and independently:

- prepare surfaces and paints, apply paints, markings, decorations, touch-ups.

- provide finishing and initiate quality control.

- work on large surfaces, external surfaces of the entire structure of aircraft or spacecraft located at height, but also on flat structural elements or complex shapes.

- adapt to teamwork which, depending on the company's activities, may involve working in an international environment.

The course is organised into several skill modules, enabling step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical application and assessment sessions to promote practical and progressive learning.

Skills module 01 – Organising aircraft painting activities within a company

  • adopting and promoting professional attitudes that meet the requirements of the aviation sector
  • communicating information in a professional context,
  • use technical documents
  • identify the constraints associated with an aircraft painting project,
  • organise a project.

Skills module 02 - Aircraft painting

  • prepare for painting
  • carry out the painting
  • check that the paintwork complies with specifications

Competency block 03 - Aircraft decoration, marking and finishing

  • prepare for decoration and marking
  • carry out touch-up painting and finishing work on all or part of an aircraft

Throughout the course, trainees receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor the learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables students to develop professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, work-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learning in conditions that closely resemble the real working world.
