Upon completion of their training, holders of the CQP in Medical Assistance will be able to assist a private practitioner, whether a general practitioner or a specialist, in managing patient care pathways and records, and in tasks relating to the preparation and conduct of consultations:
Medical assistants carry out their duties in a doctor’s practice under the authority of a practitioner, in accordance with current procedures and regulations, within the strict limits of their scope of practice and using terminology and techniques specific to the sector.

Assessment:
1/ Professional role-play (oral examination) covering the entire process of an examination or treatment and the specific precautions to be taken
2/ A written multiple-choice questionnaire comprising 10 questions on different treatments or examinations that complement the professional role-play.
3/ Case study (written examination) focusing on the collection and analysis of the reason for consultation within the healthcare pathway
4/ Practical case study (written examination) focusing on:
Vaccination traceability / Periodic examinations linked to mass screening programmes (cervical smear, colorectal screening, breast cancer)
Skills module 2 | Administrative management of patients
Assessment:
3 professional role-play scenarios (oral examinations): using digital tools / Organising teleconsultations / Simulation of a reception scenario in a doctor’s surgery
Practical case study (written examination)
Competency Block 3 | Management of infection risk and health and safety procedures
Assessment:
2 practical case studies (written examinations) covering hygiene, waste management and traceability in a medical practice / literature review and role-play
Skills module 4 | Operational assistance to the practitioner
Assessment:
1/ Analysis portfolio and oral interview
2/ Simulated professional scenario with an overarching scenario (oral examination)

The course combines face-to-face and distance learning. Learning takes place through a mix of sessions at the centre, virtual classes, online resources and regular support from the trainer.
Assessment prior to commencing the course.
Interviews and remedial support with the educational advisor and/or the industry liaison officer during the course.
Equivalences and pathways: to be assessed on a case-by-case basis depending on the candidate’s background.
Recognition of prior learning (VAE) is possible but not offered by GRETA CFA Côte d’Azur
Education Nationale certified teachers, Bac +3 trainers with significant experience in adult education, professional lecturers.

Successful completion of all competence modules and the Certificate in First Aid and Emergency Care (AFGSU Level I) are required to obtain the certification.

Assessment based on application documents:
The assessment aims to identify the skills possessed by candidates in order to develop personalised learning pathways. It is carried out after candidates have been shortlisted. Exemptions from training modules may be offered to candidates. The skills assessment determines which parts of the training programme candidates may be exempt from. Exemptions relieve candidates of the training time associated with one or more training modules, as well as the corresponding assessment tests.
Module: Creating and Managing a Patient File and Module: Medical Vocabulary: Exemption for those holding a medical secretarial qualification (including the UNAPL ‘Technical Secretary – Healthcare Organisation’ qualification).
Medical Software Module: Exemption for medical secretaries with 2 years’ experience
Communication with Patients Module: Exemption for holders of a medical secretarial qualification (including the UNAPL ‘Technical Secretary – Healthcare Organisation’ qualification) plus one year’s experience as a medical secretary
Infection Control Module: Exemption for holders of the Dental Assistant qualification and the CQP Dental Assistant qualification
AFGSU Level 1: Exemption upon presentation of a valid AFGSU certificate on the day of the assessment panel
Stock Management: Exemption for holders of the Dental Assistant qualification and the CQP Dental Assistant qualification
Personalised learning pathway: Duration of 195 to 279 hours
