The holder of the BTS FED - Fluides Energies Domotique - Option C Domotique et bâtiment communicants - is a specialist in building automation and communication networks. On completion of the course, he/she will be able to: -

  • design, install, programme and commission technical solutions in housing and professional (tertiary) buildings, meeting customer needs as closely as possible
  • have an advisory and training role in the use of the installed solution
  • technically cover all the different stages of a case, from design to commissioning
  • mastering sales techniques to understand customers' needs, then making appropriate proposals
  • drawing on their technical knowledge to draw up quotations and put forward arguments to defend their solution to customers.

The course is organised into several skill modules, enabling step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical exercises and assessment sessions to promote hands-on, progressive learning.

General education modules

General knowledge and expression, English, Mathematics and Physics-Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

Throughout the course, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables students to develop professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, career-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learning in conditions that closely resemble the real-world workplace.

Have one of the following qualifications: BAC STI2D (all specialities), BAC PRO electrotechnics, energy, communicating equipment, or digital electronic systems, or energy and climate systems maintenance technician, or BAC S (option SI, more rarely option SVT).

Assessments are organised throughout the course and at the end of the programme, in accordance with the qualification framework. Assessment tests may take the form of in-course assessments (CCF) and/or final examinations.

Support with exam preparation is provided throughout the course to help candidates succeed.

This qualification is awarded following validation by the academic examination board.

If a candidate fails the qualification, they retain credit for the modules they have passed and may retake the remaining examinations at a later date. The modules passed remain valid for 5 years

The advanced technician with option C ("home automation and communicating buildings") is a specialist in building automation and communication networks. They may work in:
- technical design offices (BET),
- installation and/or maintenance companies,
- equipment suppliers and/or manufacturers,
- local authorities.
