BAC PRO Sewing and clothing trades

Holders of the Vocational Baccalaureate in Sewing and Clothing Production will be able to:

- to contribute to the detailed design of patterns (pre-industrialisation phase), in collaboration with a senior ‘pattern-maker’ technician, whilst analysing the relationship between ‘product, materials and processes’, with the aim of defining all the pattern’s seams.

- to contribute to the modification and improvement of processes associated with the production of textile and leather goods.

- to incorporate, within this collaborative approach, the technical and economic constraints imposed by the selected processes: in pattern-making and prototype preparation.

- to be involved in the product industrialisation phase (defining processes for guides and fastenings) on cutting tasks using computerised systems (preparing cutting plan processes, preparing quilting processes and carrying out the cutting).

- to be involved in the versatile production of products.

- to carry out quality control during local production and on finished products.

The course is organised into several skill modules, enabling step-by-step progression. It alternates between theoretical input, practical application and assessment sessions to promote hands-on, progressive learning.

Professional skills modules

BC01 – Preparing a product

• Researching information, either locally or remotely, in order to take action.
• Understand practical solutions appropriate to the raw materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
• Contribute to adapting the organisation of production.

BC02 – Producing and inspecting a product

• Applying the settings and methods required for production.
• Carrying out production operations involving preparation, manufacture and finishing.
• Recording production data.

BC03 – Contribute to an environmentally responsible working environment as part of a team

• Put forward proposals and communicate them in writing and orally
• Share experiences that promote professional and personal development
• Enhance one’s expertise through professional development

General education modules:

Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, Economics and Management, Health, Safety and the Environment, English, French, History, Geography and Moral and Civic Education, Applied Arts and Artistic Cultures, Physical Education and Sport (for apprentices)

Throughout the programme, learners receive personalised support with regular monitoring by the teaching team and progress reviews to tailor learning to each individual’s needs.

A work placement also enables students to develop their professional skills in a real-world setting.

Skills are assessed progressively through role-plays, practical exercises, professional projects and assessments carried out throughout the course.

Our teaching methodology prioritises a practical, work-focused approach: case studies, role-plays, practical scenarios and collaborative activities enable learning in conditions that closely resemble the real-world workplace.

Positioning upstream of entry to training.

Education Nationale certified teachers, Bac +3 trainers with significant experience in adult education, professional lecturers.

Assessments are organised throughout the course and at the end of the programme, in accordance with the qualification framework. Assessment tests may take the form of in-course assessments (CCF) and/or final examinations.

Support with exam preparation is provided throughout the course to help candidates succeed.

This qualification is awarded following validation by the academic examination board.

If a candidate fails the qualification, they retain credit for the modules they have passed and may retake the remaining examinations at a later date. The modules passed remain valid for 5 years

The companies concerned fall within the general field of the design and production of fashion garments and accessoriesin the luxury and ultra-luxury segment that incorporate a wide variety of textile and leather materials and processes: industrial companies in flexible materials, the clothing industry and the textile industry.
